Two Rivers High School NHS Advisor
The National Honor Society (NHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1921.
In order to join the Two Rivers High School NHS chapter, students need to maintain a 3.6 cumulative GPA or higher and will have to fill out an application form in which they prove that they are students who meet the four pillars of NHS...
One of the four pillars of National Honor Society (NHS) is Service. Students are expected to complete 30 hours of service each school year. Activities that count as acts of service for National Honor Society consist of contributions to nonprofits or public institutions where the individual is not compensated monetarily for their efforts. Acts of service do not include promoting club or organization memberships nor do they include activities required by other clubs/organizations. All service hours are up to the discretion of the NHS committee.
Students are also required to attend monthly meetings (usually the 3rd Wednesday of each month). Meetings are held in the auditorium and run from 7:45am-8:15am. Students that miss three meetings without a parent/doctor note (unexcused absence) will be dismissed from NHS.
